Lego

I got my first Lego car when I was in kindergarten and was amazed by what I was able to make with just rectangle blocks.Since then whenever I was asked what I wanted for my Christmas present,I would say Lego without hesitation.Lego has many different themes and I prefer the 'city' and 'Friends'.You can check out the various themes here.

K'nex

The first time I encountered K'nex was at Isetan.The motorize model on display caught my eyes.The box of K'nex can build 80 different models and it cost me around $140,so each model I build would cost less than $2! Since its a bargain, my mum decided to get the solar-powered motor set which can build 40 models for $110.

Lego vs K'nex

There are some differences between Lego and K'nex.

One difference is that Lego uses interlocking plastic bricks accompanied by an array of gears while K'nex makes use of interlocking plastic rods,connectors, blocks, wheels, pulley, gears and motor. Lego models are more compact compared to K'nex. Another difference is that k'nex does not provide any characters like people or animals. Lego comes with figurines called minifigures.The third difference is that k'nex is cheaper compared to Lego.But this could be because Lego uses more pieces for each model compared to K'nex.
